We began the pre-race meeting with a special presentation to Bridget Hall, winner of the prestigious Golden Service Award from Orienteering USA. Congratulations Bridget!

The courses had loops (3 for long and 2 for short), so participants were split up right after they reached the first control. The final control for all courses was a challenging climb at the top of a 7-meter tower (on the playground). Individuals who opted to skip the climb and take an alternate ground level control instead were automatically switched to the "acrophobic" variant of their course.
