It was a chilly day in Duluth, but the rain held off for the hearty orienteers. We had about 70 starts, with a solid mix of Duluth residents and travelers from the Twin Cities. Overlooking the west end of Duluth, the newly-mapped park features a combination of nordic, mountain bike, hiking, and snowmobile trails. There is a variety of vegetation, including open woods, tangly marshes, and goat prairies, plus a considerable number of cliffs, boulders, and other features. Six courses were available, as was a bucket of leftover Halloween candy. On the long course, Andre Karpov took top spot, so we're hoping he uploads his route to Livelox so we can see a masterclass in navigation.
