Overview

Sponsored by Minnesota Orienteering Club and Three Rivers Park District


This clinic is a great opportunity to brush up on your orienteering skills and to invite friends and family to experience a new outdoor sport.
Learn map and compass skills from Minnesota Orienteering Club (MNOC) experts. Families and people of all abilities learn through classroom instruction, skill stations geared for beginners, guided practice courses, and an official ‘sprint’ course with electronic punches. Registration/check-in at the park visitor’s center starts at 11:45 am.

 

Schedule
  • Schedule of Classes – inside visitors center:
    • 12:00 pm – Classroom Session I
    • 12:45 pm – Classroom Session II
    • 1:30 pm – Special Instruction for Teachers and Group Leaders

  • Schedule of Events – outside visitor’s center, open from 12:00 pm-3:00 pm:
    • Skills Station - After attending one of the classroom sessions, practice what you’ve learned at our skill stations 
    • Guided walk on a beginner course with our orienteering experts
    • 1.5k course with electronic punches available to all participants

 

Pricing

Pre-registered Pricing:

  • $13: Adults and Juniors

  • $8: JROTC Cadets

 

Day-Of Pricing:

  • $18: Adults and Juniors

 

**Juniors are 19 years old and under

 

Location

French Lake Regional Park is situated on the north shore of Medicine Lake in Plymouth, MN. Take the County Road9/Rockford Road exit from Interstate 494 and head east.  The entrance to French Regional Park is less than one mile east on the south side of Rockford Road.  The skills clinic will be held at the park visitors center.
