With the record snowfall of February melting throughout March, the conditions in the park have changed drastically in the past couple of weeks. Most of the snow has now melted, except for north-facing slopes and some shady areas. Trails were muddy in some areas, and icy in others. Although the water level has gone down some from its peak, there were still some spots where competitors may have wished to have brought a snorkel.
