Overview

The Ski O is held in conjunction with the City of Lakes Loppet (COLL) Ski Festival.  It is one of 16 events held on the 4th of February.  The start location is coordinated by the race director and provided to the participants several days prior to the event.  This event requires basic map and compass skills and places an emphasis on route choice. 

 

Courses

Ski Orienteering Event with Long and Short Course Options.  Difficulty is easy to intermediate.  There is a 60 minute time limit for this event.  For information on Ski Orienteering, see our FAQ.

 

Schedule

  • Registration is handled through the City of Lakes Loppet and closes on 3 February.  There is no day of registration.

  • Race Start: 1pm Mass Start at a location to be communicated by the race director.

  • Course Closure: 2pm

  • $17 Through January 11

  • $20 Through January 31

  • $30 Through February 3

 

Location

North side of Lake Calhoun in Minneapolis, MN.  The Loppet Village is located at the Lake Calhoun Executive Center at 3033 Excelsior Boulevard, Minneapolis, MN 55416.

Snow Conditions / Cancellation

In the event that mother nature doesn't bless us with ample snow, we hold a foot Score-O in place of the Ski-O event.
