MNOC News
![]() October 20th - 8AM - 10AMCome orienteer in the best corn maze in the metro area! MNOC has exclusive use of Sever's Corn Maze during our 8-9:30 start time window. Come race on a closed course with electronic timing. Start times will be assigned on the evening of October 13th via e-mail and announcement on the web site. Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your start time to get your e-punch stick. Expect finish times between 15 and 30 minutes. Please be advised that cutting the course is against the rules and spirit of our sport, and will result in a lifetime ban from the corn maze. Our relationship with Sever's is one that we would like to grow, so we can have future races in their huge and detailed corn mazes. Sever's is open for regular business at 10 AM, and we encourage family and friends to come either before then to watch, or at 10 AM to have fun with the family. In addition to the corn maze, Sever's has a petting zoo, a corn pool, shows, two jumping pillows, a giant slide, and live music. The club gets discounted entry for MNOC members that day. Fees are $14 for corn maze racers, $10 for all other MNOC members. Regular admission to Severs is $13. Please pre-register here. Pregistration of both participants and spectators is REQUIRED , and there will be no day-of registration.
We hope you will take advantage of this new service so that MNOC can better plan events and speed up registration on the day of the event. You and MNOC will not have to handle cash on the day of the meet, plus you can make sure that your name is typed in correctly in the results (rather than us having to attempt to decipher your handwriting on the punch card). This preregistration is accessed on the web site either from the Register for an Event link on the menu, or from the main event schedule (click on each event). Sign up now for one event - or many. Remember that you can add multiple registrations to your shopping cart and pay for them all at once.
The MNOC Board of Directors voted to standardize the start windows and course closing times for the 2006 season. The decision was based on our real world experience over the past few years, and took into account the actual number of participants in our events, the volunteer workload, and safety concerns relating to early sunset in the fall and winter months. The new schedule is as follows:
