Grand oaks and delicate prairie flowers grace the rugged, rolling landscape of this park. The trails are perfect for hikers, horseback riders and cross-country skiers. The park offers visitors a swimming beach, backpack campsites and a visitor center with interpretive displays.

Location

Afton State Park is located on the St. Croix River (Minnesota side) between the cities of Afton and Hastings. From 94, exit Manning Ave. Take Manning South about 7 miles to 70th St. Take 70th to the East and you will enter the park.

Come Clean Leave Clean

The Minnesota Orienteering Club practices a Come Clean Leave Clean policy.  This helps us maintain a good relationship with the parks we utilize, sets a good example for other users, and limits the transfer and spread of many of the plants that make our venues less enjoyable.

Volunteer

It takes a handful of volunteers to make each of our events successful.  If you would like to learn more about volunteering, please see our Volunteering page.  And as a reward, you'll get a free race entry the next Regular event you choose.
